Happy Valentine's Day! Today is all about love so it's a great day to ask yourself if you love your work life. So do you?
Did you know that about one-third or 30% of human life is spent working? That on an average, most people spend about 25 to 30 years working?
Based on this data, it's important to find work you love - or at the very least - have elements of your work that you love.
1. Create a work environment you love working in
Walking into your office should be a joyful experience, not one that you dread. Make the most of your your workspace! Keep it decluttered, bring the outside in, and keep it light and bright! Add things you love to look at.
2. Setup systems you love working with
Implement systems that are easy and fun to use to get your work done. Onboard Alexa as your Assistant (click here for a free digital download to learn how!) or use an inspirational journal or Rocketbook to take meeting notes. Use decorative file folders instead of manila folders and label the tabs with a label maker.
3. Schedule time to incorporate things you love to do every day
Use a planner or digital calendar to block out time for breaks. Add fun stickers in your planner to mark your breaks. Time block break times on your digital calendar and color code them sunny yellow, bright orange, or red to make them stand out!
Whenever possible, don't ignore or snooze your break time. Make them and take them! Stretch, take a walk, make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. Whatever you choose to do, step away from your desk for those few minutes. The change of scenery will offer you a much-needed mental break during your workday.
